Encanto Attraction Update: Vertical Progress at Disney's Animal Kingdom (2026)

Exciting changes are underway at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and fans of Encanto are in for a treat! But here’s where it gets even more thrilling: the highly anticipated Encanto attraction is making significant vertical progress, and we’ve got the latest updates that you won’t want to miss. Earlier this week, we shared that new framework was being added to the upcoming attraction, and now, construction is literally reaching new heights.

The latest addition to the structure includes parapets—those decorative or functional walls extending above the roofline—being installed on the shorter, left-side section of the framework. And this is the part most people miss: these parapets weren’t there just days ago, highlighting the rapid pace of development. Parapets, commonly seen on commercial buildings with flat or low-slope roofs, are now gracing the back side of this new section, adding both aesthetic and structural elements to the design.

Guests visiting the park can also spot additional parapets being added to the far back wall and the right side of the taller framing. Interestingly, these details were absent last week when the forward-facing parapets on the front side were first noticed. This morning, a crane was spotted lowering more beams, signaling that the attraction is truly taking shape.

But here’s the controversial part: as the Encanto attraction moves closer to completion, it marks the beginning of the end for DinoLand U.S.A. While many are thrilled about the new addition, some fans are nostalgic about bidding farewell to this classic area. Are you excited to see this magical new experience come to life, or do you have mixed feelings about the changes? Let us know in the comments!
