For a standard car, the ERS-K power output starts to taper off at around 290kph. Overtake mode will not be active on the first lap of a Grand Prix, and it will be enabled after the leader and all cars pass the detection point for the first time. The Race Director can disable the system if necessary, such as in poor weather conditions. It will also be available during practice and qualifying, just like the DRS.
