Finally! Guilty Gear -Strive- on Switch Gets a Massive Update!
It's official: the long-awaited update and DLC for Guilty Gear -Strive- Nintendo Switch Edition is here, launching on December 18th, 2025! After a bit of a wait, fans can finally dive into fresh content. This update is packed with new features, characters, and improvements, making it a great time to jump back in or experience the game for the first time.

New Characters! Get ready to welcome three exciting additions to the roster:

Fresh Colors: Celebrate Lucy's arrival with special color palettes for multiple characters. More color options will be available later.
More Music: Enjoy a treasure trove of tracks from previous Guilty Gear titles, plus themes for the new characters. And, as a special treat, you'll find tracks from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Cyberpunk 2077!
Avatar Customization: Customize your avatar with new parts inspired by the new characters, including David and Rebecca from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Digital Figures: Collect new digital figures of the additional characters through FISHING and create your own photo ops!
Battle Experience Improvements:
- Enhanced Training Mode: Analyze frame data and other features to level up your skills, whether you're a beginner or a pro.
- Ranked Match: A brand-new online mode with a ranking system. Compete against players of similar skill levels and earn exclusive rewards.
- Vote to Cancel Match: A new feature to confirm connection status before matches and vote to cancel matches mid-game, creating a smoother online experience.
Battle Version Update: The game has been updated to Battle Ver. 4.09, which brings the latest character balance from other platforms to the Switch.
New Language Support: Brazilian Portuguese is now supported, making the game more accessible to a wider audience.

The Backstory: A Bit of a Delay
Guilty Gear -Strive- Nintendo Switch Edition launched in January, but the DLC and updates were initially slated for Fall 2025. Arc System Works apologized for the delay, citing operational testing issues. They've assured players they're committed to delivering a polished experience.
