Piastri had a strong start to the season, leading for a significant portion, only to see his chances fade in the final five races. After losing the points lead in Mexico City, he ultimately finished the season in third place behind Verstappen.

Reflecting on his third season in Formula 1, the Australian driver noted that despite the tough lessons learned, he gained valuable insights. "Some lessons were pleasant to learn, while others were rather harsh," Piastri admitted.

"The peaks I experienced last year served as a confidence booster, demonstrating that when I optimize my performance, I can be a formidable competitor. However, the latter part of the season introduced challenges that were distinctly different from those I faced earlier on.

"In Austin and Mexico, for instance, I encountered technical and driving challenges that I hadn’t faced previously. These experiences were crucial takeaways for me moving forward.

"There was also a lengthy stretch of races filled with various events, and I believe extracting lessons from those experiences—both on managing my performance and how our team operates—is vital. I feel I’ve made considerable strides in learning from last year, and I sense the team has as well.

"We’re committed to making tweaks and changes across all aspects of our operations. While everyone might be focusing on how we race against each other, there are also significant lessons in performance management and time management to consider.

"Constant evolution and not being stagnant is perhaps one of the most important lessons I took away from last year."
